India – Asha, Community Health

TEAR Fund’s partner, Asha, works with under five-year-olds and their mothers by transforming India’s degraded slums into communities in which families live with dignity. 

Asha’s health programme involves expanding midwifery care; immunisation, nutrition, food and vitamin supplements; training community health workers; an ambulance service; and family planning teaching. Literacy, sanitation and water reticulation are also parts of Asha’s work.
