Tearfund works through passionate local churches in Lebanon & Syria to provide families with what they need to survive.

They’re particularly focused on serving the most vulnerable including those separated from their families, children at risk of abuse, people with disabilities, the elderly and young mothers like Marwa*.

O Come All Ye Faithful

Jesus’ earliest years were spent as a refugee in a foreign land after his family fled persecution. Around 2000 years later – this Christmas – we’re asking you to make room in your heart for a refugee family from Syria by donating today.

The Syrian refugee crisis has been a tidal wave of human suffering - the largest our generation has ever seen. We’ve watched horrors unfold on our screens for nearly eight years as millions have been displaced.

Jesus says “Truly I tell you, whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me.” Your support is a lifeline for these families.

Why we serve Syrian refugees, interviews with Lebanese pastors.

By donating today
you will help provide:

Basic supplies to survive the winter:

Fuel for stoves, food, blankets, warm clothes and mattresses.
  • $175 can provide a family with a winter pack
  • $105 can provide a one-month food basket for a family

Education and child friendly spaces:

  • $44 can help a child attend a child-friendly space for a month
Children who have few rights as refugees in Lebanon can have a place to learn, receive trauma care and feel safe.

Protecting children begins with feeding their families.

People like you have already made a difference for children like Faycal*.

“It broke my heart to see my 11-year-old son sad and desperate after we were forced to flee Syria. Because I was injured and paralyzed, Faycal dropped out of school to find work in a car wash to provide for me, my wife and his younger sister. The church heard about our family, added us to the monthly food assistance programme and provided blankets and warm clothes. Faycal will now be able to return to school and live a more normal childhood. Thank you for bringing the smile back to his precious face!” - *Story by Faycal’s father.

Meet Marwa*

“I have five children ranging from 7 months to 11 years old. We used to have a cow farm. I saw bombs, shelling, people dying and ruins all around us. Every day I heard stories of families losing their children and I was so scared of losing one of my children. We left everything we owned back in Syria and I was depressed because of everything I had seen and been through. Some people told us about how their church could help us and so the pastors came and met with us. Soon after we started receiving things from the church like food vouchers, milk and diapers, we are so grateful".

You can help families like Marwa's by donating today.
