Church protects Cristhian from criminal gangs

Growing up in neighbourhoods with gangs that rule the streets, it is difficult not to be coerced into joining them, but the churches that run Compassion’s child sponsorships programmes are helping to protect children from them and from getting involved in drugs and other criminal activity.

Tour of New Zealand 2023

The Tour of New Zealand (TONZ) is a cycling adventure of a lifetime.

Where: From Arthurs Pass to Wanaka's Crown Range (5 days over 571 kms)
When: Monday 10th April - Friday 14th April 2023, with a celebration dinner at the Gondola Restaurant, Queenstown.

Tour day stages will be as “full on” as you choose to ride them and the evening Peloton Parties will be as full on as you choose to enjoy them. Indeed, the Tour is in a league of its own. You can customise the Tour as you wish, be a social rider, a weekend warrior or a champion. We want a peloton full of riders that will work with the race crew to enjoy fast, safe riding on the road and also be generous towards their chosen charity off the road. You will meet some extraordinary people on Tour 2023 and make some lifelong bike buddies from all over the world.

In April 2023, you can cycle for Tearfund and join a community on the move for freedom! Tearfund is a registered charity committed in the cycling space and this will be our fourth TONZ adventure.

Are you with us as we cycle to raise funds and awareness of the Modern Day Slavery scourge?

Child sex trafficking is an evil industry that is devastating an estimated 4.8 million children, shattering their lives and vulnerable communities. This is called modern day slavery due to its scale and advance and it needs our immediate attention and action.

Sex slavery generates an estimated US$ 99 billion for criminal networks every year, according to the International Labour Organisation (ILO). Every year an estimated 4.8 million people become victims of forced commercial sexual exploitation, 98% of which are women and children.

By joining Tearfund you will join our full circle approach bringing: prevention/protection, rescue and prosecution and restoration and empowerment.

Push your pedal for change and join Tearfund’s passionate staff and supporters in Autumn 2023 in the beautiful South Island.
