Despite recent ceasefires in both Palestine and Lebanon, hundreds of thousands of displaced people remain in desperate need of assistance

  The widespread destruction of homes and critical infrastructure has severely hindered efforts to meet the humanitarian and health needs of those impacted by 15 months of relentless conflict. 

Tearfund is responding through local Christian partners to meet the urgent needs of people impacted by the brutal conflict. In Lebanon, our partners are  helping to provide healthcare, including mental health services, to those who have been displaced and traumatised by the hostilities.

What is happening and how are people affected?

  • While a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon offers hope, the need for assistance remains critical.
     
  • In Lebanon, some families have begun returning to their devastated homes and communities but nearly one million remain displaced, unable to go back.
     
  • Many have lost everything and continue to face deep trauma and uncertainty about the future. Recent reports highlight ongoing challenges, including limited access to basic necessities, overcrowded shelters, and the strain on local resources.
     
  • Our partners are on the ground, working tirelessly to provide critical support—offering medical and emotional care to those still in crisis.

The Emergency Alliance raises funds on behalf of eight Kiwi agencies to respond to various humanitarian crises in the world - all while giving Kiwis a simple and effective way to support people affected by disasters and conflicts. Currently, the Emergency Alliance has launched an appeal for Gaza.
