Now’s the time to act. Help provide emergency medical care and supplies to people in dire need in Gaza and the West Bank.

For two long years, the world has followed the irrefutable suffering of those living in Gaza. Their homes have been decimated, humanitarian aid has been blocked, and for the last two months they’ve endured full-blown famine. They need humanitarian aid desperately.

Tearfund is responding through our two Christian partners active in Gaza and the West Bank. For two years, they’ve worked tirelessly to treat injured people and those suffering from chronic illnesses and malnutrition.

Your donation now will help our partners scale up their medical responses quickly and help stop the suffering.

What is happening and how are people affected?

  • A ceasefire agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas on Friday, 10 October and the hostages have been released. However, the situation remains extremely fragile.

  • Humanitarian aid to Gaza has been blocked for much of the conflict, which means families have not had access to emergency food, medicines, and other essential aid. As a result, a full-blown famine was declared in Gaza in August.

  • With a peace agreement signed, and humanitarian access improving, hundreds of trucks containing essential supplies are now entering Gaza every day.

  • People in Gaza are returning, mostly on foot, to find their homes totally destroyed. They are weak from a lack of food and sufficient clean water, and many need emergency medical care, medicines, and supplies.

Impact to date

  • Since the start of the conflict in 2023, Kiwis have come together to:

Support the only functional hospital left in northern Gaza providing critical aid

Deliver 14 shipments of medicine (enough to support 25,000 people) into Gaza

Provide 13,650 people treatment in health clinics in Lebanon

Provide 10,368 counselling sessions to those experiencing trauma in Lebanon

Act now. Help relieve the suffering of people in the Middle East.
